The bicycle and pedestrian paths of Nembro and the district of Gavarno, on the opposite banks of the Serio, are now joined by an 80-metre footbridge. It is bridge number 100 in the Seria municipality, which was placed in two sections over the day thanks to a massive crane truck.

«The bridge has an important value for Nembro, for Gavarno, but also for the valley, explains Matteo Morbi, Councillor for Public Works of the Municipality of Nembro. The structure consists of two sections of 50 and 30 metres».

Once the footbridge installation is complete, work will continue in the area. «The connecting paths between the bridge and the two cycle paths will be built», Morbi continues. «Then, we will continue with the other construction site for the widening and reclamation of the Serio riverbank. Finally, the new fitness area will be built».

For the bridge, an overall economic framework of almost 630,000 Euro, largely covered by an urban planning operation. On the other hand, the investment for widening and reclamation of the Serio riverbank is 500,000 Euro, an amount entirely financed by the Region. Regional contributions also for the fitness area, for an investment of 25,000 Euro.
